The Industrial Development Corporation of South Africa Limited (IDC) was established in 1940 by an Act of Parliament (Industrial Development Corporation Act, No. 22 of 1940). The IDC was mandated to develop domestic industrial capacity, specifically in manufactured goods, to mitigate the disruption of trade between Europe and South Africa during the Second World War.

Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) invites graduates to apply for Internships in 2025. The IDC Internship Programme is a 24-month fixed-term contract designed to provide structured workplace exposure for qualified youth. Interns benefit from mentoring, career path exploration, and real-world experience, making them more employable and equipped for the professional environment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Under 35 years of age
  • Must not be enrolled in any other internship or learnership programme
  • Must have a completed qualification
  • Must not be currently studying
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English
