The Agricultural Research Council is a premier science institution that conducts research with partners, develops human capital and fosters innovation to support and develop the agricultural sector.
ARC seeks dynamic and passionate interns to support ongoing Range and Forage Science research across multiple regions. Interns will be exposed to practical research, data collection, project coordination, and equipment handling. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates looking to kick-start their careers in agricultural or environmental sciences.
Important: Applicants must choose only one province for placement.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare equipment and materials for fieldwork
- Assist with data collection, labelling, and capturing
- Ensure proper use and care of research equipment
- Compile monthly and quarterly reports
- Assist with project management and coordination
- Contribute to all Range and Forage Science projects
- Adhere to SOPs and Occupational Health and Safety policies
- Provide regular verbal and written feedback
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma / BSc / Honours / MSc in:
- Agricultural Management
- Animal Sciences
- Plant Sciences
- Wildlife Management
- Biodiversity Conservation
- Prior experience in rangeland or animal-related fieldwork
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be able to work independently and in large teams
- Valid Driver’s Licence (Code 8 or 10) will be an added advantage
- Postgraduate qualifications are a bonus
