Triton Academy, a TETA-accredited training provider, offers training in Freight Handling and Professional Driving to help individuals develop job-ready skills in the logistics and transport sector. The 12-month National Certificate: Freight Handling Learnership targets unemployed youth, equipping them with theoretical knowledge and practical work experience.

This opportunity is ideal for motivated individuals looking to gain a formal qualification and hands-on industry experience.

Responsibilities

Training Activities:

  • Load and off-load goods from vehicles
  • Prepare vehicles for trips
  • Receive and dispatch freight, manage documentation
  • Assist with warehouse and transport duties
  • Pick, pack, and verify stock
  • Perform general housekeeping
  • Deliver and collect goods
  • Stack and secure goods safely for transport

Learning & Development:

  • Structured theoretical training aligned to unit standards
  • On-the-job practical training with mentorship
  • Final assessment preparation for external verification

Minimum Requirements

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be South African citizens aged 23 to 35 years
  • Have Matric (Grade 12), TVET N3, or NQF Level 3
  • Achieve minimum 40% in English and Mathematics/Math Lit
  • Not be employed or studying
  • Reside in Port Elizabeth (specific areas will apply)
  • Be medically fit
  • Have numeracy and communication skills in English
  • Be willing to work shifts and weekends
  • Have a clear criminal record
  • Possess own reliable transport

Advantageous:

  • Computer literacy
  • Experience in logistics or warehousing
